A Greener Way to Shoot

At BKIND, sustainability is at the heart of our productions. We actively reduce our carbon footprint by using most possible eco-friendly transport, LED lighting, digital workflows, and sourcing from local, sustainable suppliers. Our preferred partnership with the 360 LED Stage also allows for virtual production, cutting down travel emissions and set construction waste.

Process

Making films with care for the environment means adopting sustainable practices at every stage of production.

Curious how we do it?
(A)
Pre-Production
- Digital Communication: Transition to paperless workflows using iPads, PDFs, and digital apps for scripts, call sheets, and schedules.

- Local Talent & Vendors: Collaborate with local crews and suppliers to minimize travel-related emissions.

- Green Suppliers: Partner with companies dedicated to sustainability for equipment and materials.

- Eco-Friendly Location Scouting: Use virtual location scouting tools or select energy-efficient venues like the 360 Stage. When travel is necessary, we choose electric cars.

- Sustainable Wardrobe:
Rent costumes whenever possible, buy second-hand, and return unused clothing to reduce waste.

On Set
- Reusable Essentials:
Swap out single-use plastics and cardboard for reusable water bottles, plates, and utensils.

- Low-Emission Transport:
Opt for electric or hybrid vehicles, carpooling, or shuttles to reduce transportation emissions.

- Energy-Efficient Equipment: Utilize LED lighting and energy-saving gear.

- Waste Management: Organize recycling, compost, and general waste bins on set for proper disposal.

- Eco-Friendly Materials: Incorporate sustainable set design and props, like recycled wood and biodegradable materials.

Catering
- Plant-Based Options:
Offer vegetarian and vegan meals to lower carbon emissions.

- Local & Seasonal Ingredients: Work with local caterers to source fresh, seasonal foods and reduce environmental impact.

- Composting & Food Donations: Collect compostable food waste and donate leftovers to local shelters.
